Mille Lacs Lake Fishing Report

Mille Lacs Lake Fishing Report - 6/4/2013

Walleye-Fishing has been decent for most anglers. Good reports have been coming off the North end sand using 1/8 oz Northland Fireball jigs and Shiners or Rainbows in 7-14 feet of water. Also some good reports from the South end in 12-15 feet of water using minnows or leeches on a live bait rig. Some anglers have started trolling crank baits in that same depth and done well. Rapala Husky Jerks and Shad Raps are producing many large walleyes.

Smallmouth Bass-The smallmouth bite has been excellent lately. The fish seem very aggressive and are in shallow 3-8 feet of water. These pre-spawn fish are hitting Berkley Powerbait Tubes and Northland Impulse minnows.

Musky/Pike-The musky bite is best described as slow. Some fish are being seen on smaller stick baits and small Phantom baits. Not many takers but the possibility of a giant is there. Pike fishing has been good in any of the shallow water bays with old weed growth. Cove, Wahkon, & Wigwam have been good. Use Rad Dog spinner baits retrieved really slow or Sucker minnows to catch these fish.

Panfish-Reports have been slow with a few Crappies & Sunfish being caught in Isle and Cove Bay. Wax worms or Crappie minnows fished in 4-6 feet of water has produced some action.

Remember, the 10 o'clock night ban goes off Monday June 10th. Get ready for some outstanding night time walleye fishing!
